Vinyasa Yoga Class - Advanced Level

This advanced Vinyasa Power Yoga class explores long standing sequences and arm balancing postures allowing the practitioner to build strength and steadiness while expanding the awareness to inner connection. As the leg-hold position starts, the pelvis tilts back to allow room to adjust the arms around the leg. Once the leg-hold is set, the pelvis does actually shift so that the body returns back onto the sitbones (this is a yoga term and it means the part of the pelvis that we use to sit on - anatomically-speaking these would be the ischial tuberosity). The cut of the trousers (low in the back) give the impression that the instructor is sitting off the sitbones, but he is actually sitting aligned on the sitbones for the majority of the leg-hold position.
